The tool has a quick and intuitive method to input data which ensures that time spent writing logs and capturing operational information is minimised. The ability to leverage data already held in Asset Management and Plant Information systems such as OSIsoft PI, MRO Maximo and SAP means that capture of plant events can also be obtained automatically via standard interfaces. These features ensure that the important information makes it into the log in the first place.
Opralog also allows complete flexibility enabling the user to define their own terminology, templates and information flow. This greatly helps the operator when logging an entry since the event template can facilitate the logging action by, for example, prompting for specific values or inserting attachments pertinent to the event. Opralog also has powerful copying and sharing capabilities meaning that important events can be quickly compiled within a handover report.
Events that need to be highlighted or requiring further action can be flagged, put on a ‘to-do' list or assigned as tasks (with instructions and due dates).
