Welcome to Infotechnics

E.ON Select Infotechnic's Action Tracking Software to Achieve Operational Excellence

Energy giant E.ON has called on Aberdeen company, Infotechnics, to implement ActionBase, the market leading action tracking software across all of their UK operating sites.  The ActionBase solution will ensure a collaborative approach for action tracking and a consistent view over all business critical actions in order to ensure full control over audit and compliance management. ActionBase will be used as part of EON's Action Tracking initiative to manage HSE compliance, internal/external audit actions and incident management, and will support the corporate strategy of creating an integrated business and centralized corporate knowledgebase.

E.ON is one of the largest power and gas companies in the UK, generating and distributing electricity, and retailing power and gas to millions of customers around the country.  It is the second major software implementation project that Infotechnics have undertaken for E.ON.  At the beginning of 2007 Infotechnics successfully implemented Opralog, the leading Operational logging and reporting system, across E.ON's 25 UK operating sites.  Opralog has already brought about significant operational benefits throughout the fleet.

Outlining E.ON's requirements, Project Executive Dave Potter said "We were looking for an off the shelf action tracking solution that supports a collaborative approach to corporate accountability and responsibility for achieving operational excellence. As we work in a complex environment, we have actions coming from many different cross organizational processes such as operations' and regulations' internal and external audit reviews, HSE, incident management, etc. We were looking for a solution that will follow the audit trail on all assigned action items and create a central repository for assigning, tracking and resolving all our actions. We found ActionBase's integration with Microsoft Office an exceptional advantage and we look forward to working with Infotechnics again on this significant project"

Speaking of ActionBase's suitability Infotechnics Business Development Director Jon Howard said "ActionBase is the ideal solution to address the requirements of E.ON.  ActionBase is a robust, centralised system, which has the benefit of being fully integrated with Microsoft Outlook and Office. E.ON will benefit from having business critical actions tracked through to completion, whilst ensuring highly visible, consistent information is available across the organisation.  Access to such information will not only aid decision making and allow early identification of possible issues or delays in critical processes, but it will also support a collaborative approach to tackling corporate compliance and responsibility.

Commenting on the contract and plans for the future Jon Howard said "We have developed a strong relationship with E.ON and look forward to helping them achieve their goals with ActionBase.   As a company Infotechnics is in the fortunate position of growing and succeeding in a competitive market.  The interest in, and demand for, both ActionBase and Opralog has been significant over the last few years as organisations continue to look for unique and differentiated products to help in the quest for operational excellence.  Our rational is to make organisations self-sufficient in the technologies we provide and going forward our goal is to continue to provide market leading software to ensure our customers are a step ahead of the competition"
